One day, while interning at Ecco (an imprint of HarperCollins) I answered the phone to discover I was speaking to Steven Tyler, of Aerosmith. That alone was surreal enough to make me question my existence, but when he (quite agitatedly) asked to speak to the publisher and I couldn’t put him directly in touch (he was out and without his cell phone), Steven Tyler then proceeded to give me Joe Perry’s home phone number, which I promptly put on the publisher’s desk without making a copy… I knew the temptation was too great for any one person to resist (especially me).

Greatest moment in publishing so far:
Alas, I have yet to meet someone truly famous (although Dan Brown was in my building at the same time I was).
When I was making my standard follow up calls to a mailing I sent out, a human actually answered (99% of the time I get voicemail). It was an editor at Allure. Not only did she agree to cover my title, she asked if I wanted to get drinks sometime. We proceeded to get drinks – I felt important.
Some books she’s worked on recently:
The Well-Dressed Home by Annette Tatum; Confections of a Closet Master Baker by Gesine Bullock-Prado; The Bizarre Truth by Andrew Zimmern
Past jobs: financial controller, accountant, valuation analyst
